About us

We're Andrea and Paola, two Colombians who found each other in the Algarve and discovered a shared love for art, painting and all things creative.

Together, we're bringing JOY & PAINT to life, with the idea of creating a space where people of all ages can come together, unwind and enjoy making something with their own hands.

A table, a coffee and a brush

Andrea first tried pottery painting in 2022 and loved it. The idea of opening a pottery painting café in the Algarve had been on her mind ever since, but it remained just that: an idea.

A few years later, while walking through Madrid together, we came across a pottery painting café. Paola was immediately drawn to it, and we started talking about how wonderful it would be to create something similar back home in the Algarve.

That conversation stayed with us. We began looking into what it would take to make it happen, and little by little, JOY & PAINT started taking shape.

We've always shared a love for painting and creativity, and we wanted to create something that reflected that. A welcoming place where friends, families and people of all ages could spend time together, try something different and enjoy the simple pleasure of making something themselves.

For now, we're bringing that idea to life through workshops at local cafés, with the hope of one day having a space of our own.

What matters to us

No experience needed

You don’t need to know how to draw. The piece, the paints and the brushes are waiting at your seat.

Your piece, your colours

Choose a mug, a dish or a little box, and paint it any way you like.

A little time for you

A morning or an evening around the workshop table. We glaze and fire your piece, and you collect it about a week later.
